To make the Law of Attraction work for you, you need to have a strong sense of well-being, as that is the only way to keep your vibration high to manifest what you want. One thing contributing to your well-being is accepting who you are. Self-acceptance has a direct link to success, good relationships, and happiness. Additionally, when you accept who you are, you live the truth; when you do that, you know your potential and can learn how to achieve it. So, let’s talk about why self-acceptance is essential and what it is, in case you are unaware.

Why Is Self-Acceptance Essential?

Here is the thing. If you live a lie, that is a sign you are not accepting yourself. You also have lower self-esteem, and you fail to value yourself. And those are the issues you face when you don’t accept yourself. That lowers your vibration, and as a result, you are not attracting anything in your best interest when you are not accepting yourself.

If you can accept yourself, with your flaws and all, you can be happier and live within your values, and your true selves will show, which is what others will respect. Therefore, that allows you to cultivate much more profound connections. And if you have struggled to embrace who you are, it will take work and therapy to help you accept yourself.

Unfortunately, if your parents have been hard on you and you were not accepted well by classmates in your youth and dealt with teasing and bullying, you will struggle to accept yourself as an adult. Even if that was not the case, if you grew up with some form of trauma affecting you, such as living in poverty or having a lot of love, you may also struggle with it. You may believe that you are not meant to enjoy having a lot of money deep down.

Having money as an adult makes you feel guilty since you have to watch your family struggle. Therefore, you cannot accept the fact that you are meant to be good for attracting abundance, so you keep passing up opportunities that will help you attain wealth. Those are examples of the roots in those who struggle to embrace themselves and their potential.

As mentioned, therapy may be necessary to help you embrace yourself and to help you tell yourself lies about how you don’t deserve to be acceptable. Secondly, you need to get to know yourself better. Unfortunately, you have blocked yourself from doing that. Now, you have come to terms because of situations that happened in your youth that were traumatic. As a result, you have been dealing with self-rejection, which resulted in you living a mediocre life. Are you ready to learn what you need to do to accept yourself?

How To Accept Yourself And Build Self-Esteem

The only way you can develop self-acceptance is if you build self-esteem, which can be daunting if you have lived with low self-esteem for most of your life. However, engaging with yourself is the only way to do that, which means you have to embrace all of your positive and negative personality and physical traits. Doing so will be the most challenging task because that involves you changing the way you think and your beliefs. So, let’s talk about how you can start building self-esteem to develop self-acceptance.

Affirmations Are Powerful

Never underestimate the power of affirmations as long as you use them correctly. You may realize that affirmations are essential to recite if there is a goal you want to achieve. And you want to achieve something significant here, which is self-acceptance. That will be challenging because you will have to begin to recite affirmations that support your positive traits instead of saying negative things to yourself all the time. Easy affirmations are short and to the point. Examples of these sayings that you can use are:

I am aiming to love myself more and more each day.

I am seeking to feel better about myself.

I am great the way I am.

I deserve good things.

Those are some excellent examples you can use when creating affirmations, and you can record them on your smartphone and have them play back to you when you are doing chores, driving, and meditating. But, of course, as you recite these affirmations, you will want to start doing the next thing: focusing on your strengths.

Find Your Strengths And Focus On Them

When you are rejecting yourself, you are focusing on your weaknesses, but now, you are focusing on your strengths. What are they? Because everyone has something they are good at, and if you are unsure of your strengths and skills, then meditate on them and once you find them, write them down. And you may surprise yourself when you see how many things you are good at and then make a vow to build on them and strengthen them. For example, if you are good at creating art, focus on your artwork. Show your creations off on social media, and you will get compliments. That will help you build self-esteem alone.

However, you may be more confident because of your strengths, but when you think of your weaknesses or flaws, which everyone has, that could stop you in your tracks.

Be Kind To Yourself

That is where this work can get tricky. If you have endured a lot of trauma in your life, you could easily blame your weaknesses on it, which is a form of self-rejection. But instead, the best thing to do is to start learning to be compassionate toward yourself. For example, if you have ADHD and struggle to focus on tasks, you will feel bad about it, hurting your self-esteem. But if you keep criticizing yourself as a result, how is that going to help you develop self-acceptance?

Here is a question: would you treat a friend like you do about your weaknesses if you have been unkind to yourself? If you answer “no,” it is time to show yourself more compassion.

A lot of this work will be challenging, and you may need to seek therapy as you do it, and that is an excellent move on your part. However, to develop self-acceptance, this work is necessary. You deserve to live the best life and to live an authentic life.
