You have heard the phrase ‘the truth stings, but it will set you free, and that is undoubtedly true if you have been in denial about your eating habits, spending habits, and other bad habits. Once you are faced with the truth about how your habits are hurting you, it will make you mad initially, but once you realize that there is truth to it, it will set you free so you can do something to improve it. The reason behind those bad habits is because of your shadow self. And by the way, there is no shame in having a shadow self because everyone has one. But, unfortunately, you cannot get around that fact, and that is why you need to know that you have a shadow self to integrate to help you attract what you want.
Why It Is Important To Integrate Your Shadow Self
The shadow self is the dark part to the point that you want to hide. It is not only responsible for limiting beliefs, but it is the part of you that finds some ‘joy’ in an enemy’s misery or someone’s misery who did many bad things in life. You are ashamed of your shadow self, so, therefore, you do not want to admit that you have a ‘dark’ side to you. But here is the thing. Once again, everyone has a shadow side to them.
The worst thing you can do is shun it, and if you ignore it, you will block your manifesting abilities. So you have to do shadow work, which is very hard to do to integrate it and accept it as part of you. You may hide it by engaging in bad habits such as overindulging with food, drink, and gambling. You cannot do that, as doing the shadow work is essential for you to make your life much better. But before getting into shadow work, let’s go over why you want to do it and how your shadow self may be blocking your manifesting abilities, which is why you struggle to attract what you want.
How Shadow Self Blocks Your Manifestation
There are many ways that your shadow self can block cause blockages when it comes to the Law of Attraction working for you. Firstly, your shadow self is why you have fears, the fears of both failure and success. Therefore, if you want to do something such as start a business or look for a better-paying job, but you keep making excuses why you have not done so yet, that is your shadow self getting into the way. Your shadow self getting into the way shows up as your fears causing blockages.
And it is not a surprise that fear is a driving force that causes so many people not to attain the things they want to achieve. Fear is hard-wired into your brain as back in the caveman days, fear protected you from being eaten by something. But, unfortunately, that protective mechanism at that time gets in the way of you doing something that is not familiar with your comfort zone. You will have to do shadow work to face your fears, so you do not let your shadow get in the way of attracting what you want that will make your life better.
Another contributor to the shadow getting into the way is your childhood wounds. If you faced childhood trauma, for whatever reason, those wounds would act as the shadow that is interfering with you living the best life possible. You may have had a decent childhood, but there may have been traumatic issues that are still affecting you today.
Another issue that could be causing you to sabotage your manifesting abilities is that you are telling yourself a story that is not true. It is not that you are deliberately lying, but you believe that you are not meant to have the good things in life because you don’t feel you are deserving. Therefore, if you are telling yourself the story of you not believing that you are worthy of good things, you will get in your way. Those are the main ways your shadow will hurt you, making the Law of Attraction work for you.
The Only Way To Integrate Your Shadow Self Is To Do Shadow Work
The first thing you need to do if you want to work with your shadow instead of shunning it is to face some brutal truths, as mentioned in the first paragraph. You need to take a good hard look at your life. And you have to admit, no matter how painful it is, you are where you are because you attracted it. You do not want to blame yourself. Instead, you want to understand how your shadow side that you shunned was why you are in an unfulfilling job or unhealthy because of bad eating habits accumulating, or in debt, you did not manage your money correctly.
Once you admit and accept that you are here today in the position you are in because of your shadow, that is the first step to take to begin doing your shadow work. First, you will have to work with the painful aspects of yourself and your childhood wounds and work on healing them. Next, accept the strong possibility that you may need to hire a therapist to help you navigate your shadow self to do the work properly.
But once you get a handle on understanding how your shadow self has gotten into the way of you attracting good things, you will begin to realize that you have been holding yourself back. And then, you can start integrating your shadow self to begin to manifest the things you want.
Shadow work is not an overnight process. It can take years to work through it, but that does not mean you cannot start manifesting great things while still doing the work. It is a matter of being mindful and raising your vibration. Remember that you are worthy of having great things despite what your shadow makes you believe otherwise.
